WE DID IT!! CONGRATULATIONS to Gov. Newsom for his overwhelming victory in the recall election. And a big THANK YOU to all of the Desert Dems who worked on the campaign. We wrote letters to the Editor; we phone banked; we marched; we donated and WE WON. So many people deserve praise, I hesitate to list names FOR fear of omitting anyone and getting into trouble.
BACK TO ZOOM As many of you know, we planned to resume in-person membership meetings in September. However, that plan has been thwarted by the persistence of the COVID health situation. OUR GUEST SPEAKER on September 25th is Christy Holstege. Christy is the Mayor of Palm Springs. She has been active and influential in multiple hot button issues affecting Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley. She is currently a candidate for the California Assembly District 42, challenging incumbent Chad Mayes. Christy is a exciting and important speaker.
