Saturday, August 9th, 10:30am-12:30pm - NEIGHBORHOOD DEMOCRATS LEADER WORKSHOP. This is the most effective effort you can make to increase voter turnout and win elections! Saturday, August 16th, 9am-10am - PROTECT OUR CHECKS SIDEWALK RALLY * HANDS OFF SOCIAL SECURITY! In front of the US Social Security Administration office at 4201 East Ramon Road in Palm Springs. It's a National #DayOfAction to protect Social Security and celebrate its milestone 90th anniversary. Bring water, hats, sunscreen, and a chair if needed. Tuesday, August 26th, 4pm-6pm - WOMEN'S EQUALITY DAY discussion led by author and activist Carlynne McDonnell on the overwhelming inequality women face and what we still must do to achieve equality. Enjoy bites and beverages too. No cost for Democrats of the Desert members, $30 cost for non-members. RSVP in advance required as space is limited. Wednesday, September 17th, 4pm-6pm, CONSTITUTION DAY Adults and students are invited to participate in Democrats of the Desert's reading of the US Constitution as a section or amendment reader. At the Palm Desert Library, Community Room, 73300 Fred Waring Drive. Come, read or watch, learn, and enjoy light refreshments too. Sunday, September 28th, CELEBRATING NATIONAL GOOD NEIGHBOR DAY Look for various times and activities, planned by Democrats of the Desert's Neighborhood Democrats Leaders. DOD will provide ideas and postcards for NLs to invite their neighbors. It's about relationships and fun! Many neighborhoods will include a food drive for Coachella Valley's FIND Food Bank.
