Mecca Comfort Station Offered for Farm and Migrant Workers

Join the Democrats of the Desert in helping supply the new Galilee Center for Migrant workers.

Opened late 2015 in downtown Mecca, the fully air-conditioned Comfort Center offers showers and restrooms for men and women and a private family restroom. Migrant workers and families are able to get in and out of the summer heat and winter cold/storms. In addition there is a laundry facility, a reception/waiting and community room used for relaxing, watching T.V. and playing games. Summer Season is upon us and these services are vital to the Farm workers. Please bring any of these items to the the monthly Democrats of the Desert meeting held the fourth Saturday of each month at 2pm at the Date Palm Country Club main clubhouse. Items needed:

toiletries (shampoo,soap,toothbrushes,laundry soap,toothpaste) baby items (diapers, clothes, baby formula, bottles) and household items (bath towels,cleaning supplies, clothing,shoes, kitchen cleaners).
